ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are likely in the twin cities, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab and Kashmir on Thursday night. Rain-wind/thundershowers are also likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, south Punjab and northeast Balochistan.
On Friday and Saturday, more rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are likely in the twin cities, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab, northeast Balochistan and Kashmir. Rain-wind/thundershowers are also likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Friday and 36-38°C on Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Friday and 36-38°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Barkhan during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Nokkundi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 49°C. Maximum temperature in Sibbi was recorded at 46°C, Panjgur and Jacobabad at 45°C, and Dadu, Chilas, Turbat and Rohri at 44°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 64 per cent.
