Three persons were killed and a dozen others sustained multiple injuries in collision between a bus and trailer, the police said on Sunday.
The rescuer and police informed that the accident occurred on Samundri Road when a trailer rammed into a passenger bus, coming from Toba. Resultantly, three persons died on the spot and 12 others sustained injuries.
On information, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the site and evacuated the injured and dead bodies to a hospital where doctors termed condition of some of the inured critical.
The police said identity of the deceased persons and injured could not be ascertained immediately. The rescuers said that cause of the deadly accident was speeding.
The police said the trailer driver fled the scene after the accident. The police have launched investigation against the runaway driver.
According to experts, rampant road accidents have become the major cause of deaths due to poor implementation of road safety rules and regulations.
They stressed the need for strict action to ensure road safety regulations to protect lives of all road users.
On the other hand, two persons lost their lives when a speeding car crushed their motorcycle.
The accident occurred on Nankana-Sangla Hill Road. Rescuers informed that the speeding car hit a motorcycle, carrying two persons. Resultantly both the riders died on the spot while the car driver fled the scene.
The rescuers shifted the dead bodies to hospital while the police have launched investigation into the incident.
