The TEVTA joined hands with Urban Unit to conduct Pakistan’s First Skill Mapping Exercise in Punjab.

The Urban Unit in collaboration with Tevta will map the demand and supply of skilled labour district wise to reorganise its courses and Institutes according to Industry Demand.

The Punjab Skill Mapping Project is one of its kind and a first in Pakistan whereby all current and projected demand of skilled labor will be mapped along with required skill set & mapping of industrial clusters. The mapping exercise will serve as a tool for evidence based planning and policy making.

The project was conceived due to dearth of data for evidence based policy making resulting in implementation failure and inability to achieve desired results.

The exercise will contribute significantly for TEVTA Punjab to utilise their Budgets effectively for Demand Driven Skills and will be a Game Changer for CPEC Projects where the International Investors will have credible information of Industry and Skilled Labour in each part of Punjab.

Speaking at the ceremony Tevta Chairperson Ali Salman Siddique termed it the most important MoU in his tenure as Chairperson of Pakistan’s largest Skill Provider of Pakistan and a breakthrough for evidence based policy-making in Tevta.

“Data reliance should be made an integral part while planning the development projects, The Urban Unit has been on the forefront in facilitation with its incredibly comprehensive data collection in almost all urban sectors.

We will ensure making the most out of this memorandum too”, assured M. Omer Masud while explaining the need of such agreements among knowledge-driven organizations. DG Placement & Procurement Aamir Aziz, DG Finance Ahmed Saeed, Consultant Digital Governance Nadeem Butt, Chief Technology Officer Naeem Aslam, Communication Innovation & Policy Advisor Saad Sheikh, Director Sarfraz Anwar & PRO Uman Khawaja were also present in the ceremony
