Sudanese families, citizens stage protest against RSF’s war crimes
Ambassador of Sudan to Pakistan, Salih Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Siddig has appealed to the international community to step forward and play its role in saving hundreds and thousands of the Sudanese people in the country’s Darfur region from the atrocities committed the terrorist Rapid Support Force (RSF).
The ambassador was addressing a press briefing organized at the Embassy of Sudan in the backdrop of the recent fall of El Fasher city in the western part of Darfur. Defence Attache of the Embassy of Sudan, Maj Gen (PSC) Aldie Abdallah Alyayeb Ahmed and senior officials of the embassy were also present on the occasion.
People, particularly children and women in El Fasher are at the mercy of the RSF militia and the reports coming from that city are very disturbing, said the ambassador while answering the questions of the media persons.
The civilian population of the city is being mercilessly killed by the RSF terrorist.
Ambassador Salih shared with the media persons evidence how the RSF was still committing grave violations, massacres, organized ethnic cleansing against thousands of innocent Darfur civilians, since it had taken over the city of El Fasher on 27 October.
“It has committed genocide and created a catastrophic humanitarian situation in El Fasher burning hospitals, schools, homes, and civil service facilities and the RSF is now desperately trying to hide its crimes by burying the dead in mass graves and burning others,” said the ambassador.
All this is happening after a siege of the city and cutting off the aids and supplies from the city’s residents for nearly two years, which had led to death of tens of thousands, he said.
The Sudanese ambassador referred to many field reports which documented that within last two weeks, deaths are more than 3,500 civilians in El Fasher and the displaced are more than 70,000 persons. It is reported that the blood stains in El Fasher can be seen from the space.
The ambassador accused a country in the Middle East of sponsoring and supporting the terrorist militia. That country is supporting the terrorist militia financially, militarily and politically and providing them with weapons and mercenaries. “This support for the terrorist militia is therefore, the main and fundamental factor of the continuation of the war and then the continuation of atrocities and all kinds of terrorist acts committed by the militia, and responsible of the aggravation of humanitarian situation in the Sudan,” the ambassador said. Sudan calls upon the international community to take immediate action to halt external support for the terrorist militia and any form of negative interference in Sudan. We call on the international community to designate the RSF militia a terrorist organization, as its behavior and crimes prove, beyond a doubt, that it deserves to be designated a terrorist organization, he said.
We also call on the international community to support the Sudanese government’s political roadmap aiming to end the war and restore civil institutions, he said.
The roadmap prioritizes a ceasefire, the protection of civilians, and the creation of the necessary conditions for a meaningful comprehensive national dialogue to achieve true national reconciliation.
