In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar-Jammu Highway, the only surface link of the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world, remained closed for the second consecutive day, today, due landslides in Ramban district.
The Highway was closed due to multiple landslides triggered by heavy rains in the district, leaving over 3000 vehicles stranded. The highway was blocked by major landslides in Trishul Morh, Battery Cheshma and Pantiyal areas on Thursday.
An official of highway police said that the stretch between Banihal and Ramban was hit by landslides and shooting stones at over a dozen places including Sherbibi, Moon Passi, Ramsoo, Pantiyal, Digdool.—KMS
