Speakers in Kathmandu express concern over Indian state terrorism in IIOJK

Speakers at a talk programme in Kathmandu expressed serious concern over the Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged the world community to take notice of the India’s atrocities in the territory.

The speakers included prominent politicians, analysts, scholars and eminent journalists, who participated in the talks programme “Consequences of Illegal Occupation” organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Nepal in connection with Kashmir Black Day.

They denounced information blockade, use of pellet guns, arrest of Kashmiri leadership and other inhuman actions by the Indian government in the occupied territory. During the programme, messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out for the audience present at the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal.

In his message, President Arif Alvi paid tribute to the Kashmiris for their resilience in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. He highlighted Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),

Likewise, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolute support for the Kashmiri brothers and sisters and reiterated Pakistan’s continued solidarity with the Kashmiri people until realization of their legitimate and inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Charter and relevant UN resolutions.

Foreign Minister Bilwal Bhutto Zardari in his message highlighted that the Kashmir dispute had been a battle of hope against overwhelming odds, of courage against fear, and sacrifice against tyranny and paid rich tributes to all the martyrs for their ultimate sacrifice and to their families for their resolve and perseverance.

Miscellaneous reporting of Amnesty International and other international human right organizations were also taken into account and India’s repressive measures in the disputed territory were criticized by the participants that included some media persons.—KMS
