DUBAI – South Africa clinched win against Australia by eight wickets and advanced to ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Final.

Chasing 135 runs, Laura Wolvaardt led Proteas completed the required score with 16 balls to spare, losing only two players. Tazmin Bates was the first to fall, scoring just 15 runs off 15 balls.

Wolvaardt played a significant role in the chase, making 42 runs off 37 balls, including three boundaries and a maximum, before her dismissal.

The highlight of the innings was Anneke Bosch, who delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 74 runs off 48 balls with eight fours and one six.

South Africa chose to field, allowing Australia to bat first. They suffered an early setback when Grace Harris was dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka on the first ball.

Beth Mooney then attempted to stabilize the innings, stitching partnerships with Georgia Wareham and stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath.

Mooney found support from Ellyse Perry, but their partnership ended when Mooney was run out by Marizanne Kapp after scoring 44 runs off 42 balls. Perry and Phoebe Litchfield batted towards the end, with Perry getting out on the final ball, leaving Australia at 134/5. Khaka, Kapp, and Nonkululeko Mlaba each claimed a wicket for South Africa.
