SOPs to be strictly followed in marriage halls: Minister

Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal on Monday said that all marriage halls will be closed at 10pm and the management will be bound to ensure use of sanitizers in their respective halls. “Marriage halls management will ensure that only fixed numbers of guests attend the ceremony besides ensuring medical check-up of staff and all service providers’ staff wears masks.”
Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal was talking members of a delegation of Punjab Marriage Halls and Caters Association headed by its patron-in-chief Mian Muhammad Ilyas.
During the meeting, SOPs of marriage halls and other problems came under discussion. The delegations demand that the marriage hall association should be consulted in preparation of Standard Operating Procedures.
Delegation also demanded relief in taxes. The members of the delegation paid tribute to the efforts of provincial minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal for opening the marriage hall. The provincial minister assured the delegation of support for resolution of their all genuine problems and said SOPs will be formulated by taking all the stakeholders on board.
The provincial minister said that the government will provide relief in taxes and marriage halls will be given an extension of six months for paying licence fee. President Punjab Marriage Hall Khalid Idrees Bhatti, General Secretary Rao Tariq and other office-bearers were included in the delegation.
