A soldier of the Pakistan Army assigned to provide security to the Polio team embraced Shahadat during the shootout with the terrorists in North Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday.
The security forces Jawaans retaliated the attack that followed a shootout between the terrorists and the men in uniform who ensured the safety of the Polio Vaccinators and successfully rescued them without any loss.
However, during the intense firing a soldier, having fought valiantly, succumbed to his injuries and embraced Shahadat. The martyred soldier has been identified as 25 years old Sepoy Saqib who hailed from Mardan district of KP. The forces have kicked off operation in the area to net the terrorists involved in attack on Polio team and purge the region from the outlaws.
On 31 May 2023, terrorists attempted to disrupt the ongoing polio campaign by firing on the members of Polio team, employed in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District. Security forces, deputed to provide protection to the Polio team, effectively engaged terrorists’ location ensuring safety of all members of the team and extricated them unharmed.
