LAHORE – The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) offers quarterly stipend to motivate the registered families to send their children to schools.
The stipend is offered under the “Benazir Taleemi Wazaif” scheme, which aims at creating long term sustainable awareness on the importance of primary, secondary & higher secondary education among BISP beneficiary families and increasing enrolment of children in schools.
Eligibility Criteria for BISP Taleemi Wazaif Scheme
Children of active BISP Kafalat Beneficiary are eligible for the scheme.
Age criteria of child is 4-12 years for enrollment in Primary Education
Age criteria of child is 8-18 years for enrollment in Secondary Education
Age criteria of child is 13-22 years for enrollment in Higher Secondary Education
After verification, the child’s name will be added to the Taleemi Wazaif list, and a stipend will be issued once attendance requirements are met.
Registration Process
BISP has recently issued guidelines for registering children in education stipend scheme. According to the programme, parents receiving BISP support must take their children to the nearest BISP Tehsil Office along with the children’s Nadra B-Form for registration.
The BISP officer will issue an enrollment slip which will be filled by the school where the student is enrolled.
Submit the slip back to the BISP office. After verification, stipend will be released.
Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Quarterly Stipend
The quarterly stipend stands at Rs2,500 for male students of primary schools while it is Rs3,000 for girls.
Similarly, the quarterly stipend is Rs3,500 for male students of secondary classes while it stands at Rs4,000 for girls.
The male students enrolled in higher secondary level receives Rs4,500 per quarter while it will be Rs5,000 for girls.
Additionally, Rs3,000 bonus will be given to girls upon completion of primary education.
The programme requires at least 70% attendance for stipend eligibility.
