LAHORE – A disturbing incident has come to light in Lahore, where a poor woman was allegedly forced by an official of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) for physical relationship in order get her electricity bill of Rs18,000 corrected.
The shocking incident was exposed by a private news channel anchor in a show wherein he can be seen questioning the Lesco official over his lecherous behaviour while the victim is also present.
The Lesco official used to hold video calls with the woman when he made the indecent demands. The woman recorded the video calls and later sought help from the anchorperson, Iqrarul Hassan.
The official had reportedly told the woman, “To fix your bill, you will have to sleep with me.”

The woman revealed that she had to go to a guest house twice after he called her to fix the electricity bill.
The video also shows the suspect trying to seeking forgiveness from the woman over his humiliating behaviour.
The incident, which took place in broad daylight, has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for strict action against the officer involved and demanding systemic reforms within the electricity department.
One user commented on the situation, pointing out that this occurred in Lahore, the political heart of Punjab, under the governance of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, implying that such incidents reflect poorly on the leadership and administrative structure in the region.
Others on social media questioned the prevailing culture of accountability in Pakistan, with one user remarking how, in this country, a simple apology could be enough to close a case for an average person, while in the case of official misconduct or abuse, the common citizens are subjected to jail time, fines, and public humiliation.
Further adding to the outrage, another user labeled government officials as “wolves,” criticizing the prevalence of corruption and unethical behavior within state institutions.
