LAHORE – Flour prices have recorded a massive increase in Pakistan, putting additional burden on consumers across Pakistan.
According to recent official data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has increased by Rs40 to Rs590 in just one week.
In the federal capital, Islamabad, the price of a 20-kilo flour bag reached the highest in the country, touching Rs 2,893.33.
The biggest price hike was seen in Sargodha, where the price increased by Rs590, followed by a Rs226.66 rise in Multan, Rs200 in Khuzdar, and Rs163.33 in Bahawalpur.
Other cities like Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar, and Lahore saw price hikes ranging from Rs40 to Rs140.
Flour prices have risen in major cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Peshawar, with some regions like Hyderabad, Sialkot, and Lahore seeing increases of Rs80 to Rs100.
The sharp rise in wheat prices has aggravated the already high inflation in the country, causing further hardship for ordinary citizens.
20-Kg Flour Bag Prices in Pakistan
As of now, the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag in Rawalpindi is Rs2,866.47, while in Karachi, it costs Rs2,600 and Rs2,850 in Peshawar, Rs2,260 in Quetta and Rs2,893 in Islamabad.
With these rising prices, consumers are growing increasingly concerned, hoping for immediate intervention from the government to address the crisis.
