RIYADH – Six Pakistani nationals were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, according to media reports and confirmation from the Pakistani Embassy.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Manfouha area of Riyadh, where a gas cylinder reportedly exploded, leaving several people affected. Among the victims were six Pakistani citizens who lost their lives in the blast.
Saudi authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been established.
The Pakistani Embassy confirmed the deaths and said it is in continuous contact with the Saudi authorities to facilitate legal formalities and assist with the repatriation of the victims’ bodies to Pakistan.
In a statement, the embassy said it is providing full consular support to the affected families and is working closely with the relevant Saudi authorities to complete all necessary documentation and procedures as quickly as possible.
The embassy also assured that every possible effort would be made to support the families during this difficult time and ensure that all required arrangements are handled without unnecessary delay.
A large number of Pakistani nationals are employed across various sectors in Saudi Arabia, and the Pakistani diplomatic mission regularly coordinates with local authorities to assist citizens and their families in the event of emergencies and accidents.
