The Sindh government has announced a series of progressive initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, opportunities, and support for women in the province. Key decisions include the establishment of 115 daycare centers and the modernization of shelter homes (Dar-ul-Amans). At a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah, with Provincial Minister for Women Development Shaheena Sher Ali and senior officials in attendance, detailed updates on ongoing projects were presented.

The government committed to providing modern facilities, play areas, and tutoring services for children residing in shelter homes, ensuring a supportive environment for women seeking refuge. To assist working mothers, the government plans to open daycare centers, starting with government offices and universities in the first phase.

This initiative aims to ease the childcare burden for working women. Minister Shaheena Sher Ali emphasized the government’s focus on improving safety and employment opportunities for women, stating, “Efforts are underway to accelerate eight major development projects worth Rs. 954 million under the Women Development Department.”

The Chief Secretary lauded the progress but stressed the importance of timely execution, warning against project delays. He also assured the allocation of necessary funds to support skilled women and enable their participation in the workforce.
