Sindh govt launches drive to control edible items prices

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has nominated Sadiq Ali Memon Special Assistant in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Sindh to oversee the price  control mechanism to control the prices of essential commodities during Ramazan in Thatta district.A meeting of the Price Control Committee was held under the chairmanship of Sadiq Ali Memon at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Thatta.

On the occasion, SACM Sadiq Ali Memon said that unjustified price hike, profiteering and hoarding would not be allowed during Ramazan while violators of the law would be dealt with severely.

He strongly directed all the Price Control Magistrates, including the Deputy Commissioner, to visit the markets and bazaars on daily basis and take action without any discrimination on the violation of the prices fixed by the government for the necessities of life and also to monitor the quality of the products so that ordinary and poor people can get relief in the holy month of Ramazan.

Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I  Riaz Hussain Leghari, General Secretary PPP Thatta District Imtiaz Ahmad Qureshi, Mumtaz Ali Memon, Business Leader Dr Kamran Qureshi, Pappu Qazi and others were also present on the occasion.
