PMSA, Customs seize huge quantity of drugs, arrest 7 smugglers

In a Joint intelligence based Counter Narcotics Operation by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Customs Preventive smuggling of narcotics was averted. During the operation 07 smugglers were apprehended in the North Arabian Sea and approx, 3000 KGs of Hashish was recovered from a stateless boat. The value of narcotics in International market is estimated to be Rs. 45 crore (PKR).

The seized narcotics along with smugglers have been handed over to Pakistan Customs for further investigation and legal proceedings including investigation of involvement of any of the apprehended individuals in other anti-state activities and completion of legal formalities.

3. Successful operation by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Customs resulting in seizure of narcotics is a testament to the fact that we are vigilant and remain committed in preventing use of Pakistani waters for any unlawful act/ purposes. Pakistan Maritime Security Agency will continue to shoulder its national obligations and responsibility to establish lawful order at sea.
