The Sindh Election Commissioner has directed all District Election Commissioners (DECs) to coordinate with the respective Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and the local administration for carrying out the delimitation exercise.
According to media reports, the delimitation exercise is the process of redrawing the boundaries of electoral constituencies. It is done every 10 years, after the census, to ensure that all constituencies have roughly the same number of voters.
The Sindh Election Commissioner has directed the DECs to coordinate with the local administration to obtain all necessary documents, such as maps and descriptions of census blocks, so that the delimitation exercise can be carried out smoothlyThe DECs have also been directed to collect relevant documents from the district and local administration and wait for further instructions from the office. The delimitation exercise is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
