Jammu

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, various Sikh bodies, including Sikh Intellectuals Circle Jammu and Kashmir, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), International Sikh Federation and Sikh Students Federation have expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of great Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani.

Senior Sikh leaders of these organizations at an emergency meeting held in Jammu, today, under the chairmanship of S. Narinder Singh Khalsa paid rich tributes to Syed Ali Gilani for his unprecedented sacrifices and unwavering commitment for the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per the United Nations resolutions.

The Sikh leaders strongly condemned the restrictions in entire Kashmir and disrespect to dead body of the respected leader by the Indian government, as his body was snatched away by Indian forces and his family was not allowed to perform the last rites. The Sikh leaders described it as the worst cruelty and violation of human rights.

S. Narinder Singh Khalsa said, the communal Hindu Indian rulers cannot kill the spirit of people of Kashmir for their freedom and their love and respect for Syed Ali Gilani. Special prayers were offered for Syed Ali Gilani.—KMS
