Shoro leads meeting on water management

Sindh Minister for Water and Food, Jam Khan Shoro, spearheaded a significant gathering to address water management issues in the province. The meeting saw the participation of Secretary Irrigation Zafrul Iqbal Khedoo, Additional Secretary Muhammad Ayub Soomro, Chief Engineer of Barrage Management Unit Sajid Bhatti, and other officials.

During the session, the provincial minister directed the provincial secretary to ensure water demand for the upcoming early crop season, emphasizing the importance of timely water distribution. It was disclosed that the technical committee meeting scheduled for next week will discuss the water allocation for the province’s early crops. The meeting aims to ensure Sindh receives its due share of water for the initial crop season.

There is optimism that the forthcoming technical committee meeting in Islamabad will result in the allocation of water for Sindh’s early crops. A Sindh representative will also participate in the meeting alongside provincial officials, as announced by Jam Khan Shoro.
