In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo has said that to save the culprits involved in the killing of three Rajouri labourers in last month’s fake encounter in Shopian, the Indian army is evading the facts by saying that the court of inquiry has been initiated to figure it out.
Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a report issued in Srinagar said that the court of inquiry and DNA test reports had never been lucrative in delivering justice to the people but instead it helped the culprits to enjoy impunity
Citing few examples where justice was not delivered, the report said that Bashir Ahmad of Khrew, Pompore, was gunned by the Indian army in his house and labelled as militant and his entire house was demolished. Similarly, Manzoor Ahmad Khan of Diver Lolab was killed by 27 RR and his family still awaits his body, the report said, adding five civilians were killed in Pathribal incident of March 2000 and were labelled as militants.
It said there are numerous cases which need to be investigated properly to ensure justice to the people but the court of inquiry and other procedures have been halting the delivery of justice since long.
The report said that the architect of Kupwara massacre – General Bakhshi is still being summoned by the court, to which he pays no heed and keeps on violating public sentiments on the Indian TV as a prominent defence expert. “This drama has been there since 90s and the Court of Inquiry is used as a tool to secure the interests of Army and protect killers under the veils.
