LONDON – Mirza Shahzad Akbar, the infamous barrister who served as PM’s aide to Interior and Accountability, claimed that he left with injuries after an acid attack in London.

The close aide of Imran Khan, who is currently in exile in Britain with his family, shared an update about an assault at his residence involving an acidic substance.

In a social media post, Mirza said his family remained unharmed, and he sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He also confirmed the quick response of cops and emergency services.

Despite being attacked, the law expert said such attacks could not intimidate him. The motivations behind the attack and identity of the assailants remain unclear, with further details awaited.

Earlier, Pakistan’s anti-graft watchdog booked Mirza under different charges in Islamabad. He was added to the stop list by FIA last year to prevent him from leaving the country.

Shahzad however departed for UAE on Sunday after his name was removed from the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) ‘stop list’ on the order of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
