SFA urges compliance with SOPs for food businesses

Director General of the Sindh Food Authority (SFA), Agha Fakhar Hussain, emphasized the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for businesses involved in sweets, nimko, and baking. In a meeting with Provincial Food Minister Jam Khan Shoro and other officials, Director General Hussain briefed about SFA’s objectives and procedures, highlighting measures taken to ensure the supply of unadulterated food items to the public.

Minister Shoro praised SFA’s efforts in this regard. During his visit to the dairy lab in Liaquatabad, established in collaboration with the Retailers Association to monitor milk quality, DG Hussain inspected the facility thoroughly. Furthermore, DG Hussain met with representatives of the Karachi Association of Sweets, Namco, and Bakers at the SFA office. The association pledged to adhere to SFA’s SOPs. Speaking on the occasion, DG Hussain emphasized the importance of hygiene principles for businesses in this sector. He warned of legal action against violators of SOPs.
