Islamabad police have arrested 07 outlaws including three dacoits from different areas of the city and recovered looted cash and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in robberies, street crimes and recover looted items. Following these orders, SSP (Operations) Faisal Kamran directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
According to the details, SP City Kamran Amir Khan constituted a special police team to trace a robbery incident occurred in Police Station Bhara Kahu Jurisdiction. A police team under the supervision of SDPO Bhara Kahu Hakim Khan, headed by SHO Shoukat Abbasi with other officials arrested three members of dacoits’ gang involved by using human and intelligence sources.
The gang members were identified as Hafeez-ur-rehman, Sehrooz, and Usama
Naseem. Police team also recovered looted cash and weapons used in crime. The accused have been sent to jail for identification parade.
Likewise, a Tarnol police team headed by SHO Tarnol Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar with other officials arrested four accused during a snap checking at fatah-e-jang road near darbar nogazi, and recovered four pistols with ammunition from their possession.
The accused were identified as Farhad Khan, Syed Abdul rehman, Asad Sajjad and Hikmat Khan and sent to police station for further investigation. Different cases have been registered against the accused and physical remand has been obtained for further investigation.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown in their respective areas. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.
