Security Forces killed 21 terrorists during operations in Balochistan’s Chagai and Pishin districts, according to the Inter Services Public Relations.
In Nokcha, Chagai District, members of Fitna al-Hindustan set up an illegal checkpoint on the N-40 Quetta–Taftan Highway in an attempt to extort money and disrupt the movement of commuters.
Security Forces moved swiftly to counter the threat, triggering an intense exchange of fire in which 11 terrorists were killed. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the site.
Separately, terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij launched a coordinated assault on the Customs House at Ziarat Cross in Pishin District, apparently seeking to breach the facility. Security Forces responded to the attack and killed 10 terrorists following a heavy exchange of fire. Several fleeing militants were also engaged, resulting in additional casualties.
According to the statement, the attack on the Customs House was linked to a broader terror-crime nexus aimed at preventing Customs personnel from carrying out their official responsibilities and enabling criminal activities in the region.
Six personnel, including two officers and a Customs Department official, were martyred during the exchange of fire while performing their duties. Sanitisation operations were subsequently launched in surrounding areas to locate and eliminate any remaining militants and safeguard local residents and important national highways.
The statement said counter-terrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework, endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue with determination.
Security Forces and law-enforcement agencies reaffirmed their resolve to combat foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism and restore lasting peace across the country.
