Secretary LG seeks inquiry report on illegal construction

Secretary Local Government Sindd Roshan Ali Shakih has directed the Director General Sindh Building Control Authority SBCA to submit an immediate inquiry report regarding the media news of illegal construction in Sharifabad area.
The reports published in various newspapers today stated that the laws of SBCA have been violated by a builder in the area of Sharifabad of the city. Roshan Shaikh instructed DG SBCA to conduct an immediate inquiry into the matter and take necessary legal action by stopping the violation and submitting the report to Secretary’s office.
Expressing his views on the issue of illegal constructions and violations of the Building Code, Roshan said, ” Government of Sindh is fully alert and vigilant on the issue of illegal constructions in the province and we are working across the board to implement the directions of honorable Supreme Court”. Secretary LG requested the people to identify and report the illegal constructions in their areas immediately on LG Helpline # 1093. Which is operating round the clock in the local government department”.
Roshan Shaikh strictly warned that any officer found involved helping illegal constructions or in collusion with illegal construction mafia would face disciplinary action as local government has already suspended 27 officers found involved in illegal activities and the inquiry against them is already underway.
