LAHORE – School Education Department has issued formal notification announcing revised working hours for government schools across Punjab.
According to the notification, the new timings will remain in effect from January 19 to April 15, 2026. As per the issued schedule, single-shift schools will operate from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, teaching hours for students in single-shift schools will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.

For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, while the afternoon shift will be conducted from 2:15 pm to 4:45 pm.

The notification also outlines revised instructions for teachers. From Monday to Thursday, teachers’ working hours have been extended to include preparation, professional development, and training activities. Teachers have been made strictly responsible for Continuous Professional Development (CPD), training sessions, and curricular activities.
In addition, the department has made attendance on alternate Saturdays mandatory for teachers, further emphasizing professional development and institutional responsibilities.
The new schedule aims to ensure continuity in academic activities while incorporating structured training and preparation time for teachers during the specified period.
