Intermittent rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in the upper parts of Pakistan on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the northwestern parts of Pakistan, which will likely strengthen during the coming days.
Under these conditions, cloudy weather and freezing temperatures with intermittent rain and snowfall are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Friday night and during the weekend. Moderate to dense fog is likely to persist over Punjab, upper Sindh and the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Saturday and Sunday and between 01°C and 03°C on Monday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 04°C and 06°C on Saturday and Sunday and between 03°C and 05°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather persisted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in hilly areas. Frost occurred in parts of the Potohar region and Kashmir. Moderate to dense fog/smog persisted in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.
However, light rain/snowfall occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Leh and Skardu remained the coldest places in the country, where the temperature dropped 09°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Gupis was recorded at -08°C, in Bagrote at -05°C, and in Kalam at -03°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 05°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 62 per cent.
