Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather: Wet spell to begin tomorrow

Rainfall of varying intensities is predicted in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday and Sunday with occasional gaps.

Snowfall is expected in hilly areas during the period.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the northwestern parts of Pakistan, which will likely strengthen during the coming days.

Under these conditions, cloudy weather with intermittent rain is predicted in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Battagram, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Mansehra, Peshawar and surroundings on Saturday and Sunday. Snowfall is expected in the upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period.

Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Saturday and Sunday and between 01°C and 03°C on Monday.

Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather persisted in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Freezing weather prevailed in the upper districts. Moderate to dense fog/smog persisted in the plains. However, light rain/snowfall occurred at isolated places.

Kalam remained the coldest place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the temperature dropped 03°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Dir was recorded at -0°C.

In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 68 per cent.
