A Russian film festival was held in Islamabad as part of efforts to promote cultural un-derstanding and strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Russia.
Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Metelitsa, Ambassa-dor of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev and Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik attended the event. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev underscored the importance of strengthen-ing cultural relations between Russia and Pakistan by providing people of both countries greater oppor-tunities to discover and appreciate each other’s cul-ture and artistic heritage.
He said the film festival was aimed at showcasing Russia’s rich artistic heritage and contemporary cultural life while providing Pakistani audiences an opportunity to learn more about the themes, stories and values that are important to the Russian people. The ambassador expressed hope that such cultural activities would help deepen mutual understanding and further
strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
