Rs500m to be released soon for ration distribution: Imtiaz

Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh on Friday said that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued orders for release of Rs 500million to distribute ration among the needy people affected due to lockdown situation.
The Sindh Energy Minister said that the relief fund will be allocated on the basis of population of the districts, said a statement. Imtiaz Shaikh said that the largest chunk from the relief fund is reserved for Karachi.The provincial Energy Minister pointed out that he has also contacted leaders of all political parties including MQM-Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami and Functional-League.
He also sought cooperation and suggestions from all parliamentary leaders said the Sindh Energy Minister. Imtiaz Shaikh said that the decision has also been made to contact private companies like Bykea and Food Panda for supply of essential food commodities at the doorsteps of the needy people. Talking to journalists on Thursday, Imtiaz said that the deputy commissioners have been directed inthis regard.On March 26, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah hadreleased Rs580 million for ration distribution among poor people whoselivelihood had been affected due to the government’s lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic.
As per details, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had released Rs580 million to carry out relief work across the province in view of coronavirus emergency 32.
It is to note Sindh government has decided to provide two million ration bags to the needy people of the coronavirus-hit province where at least 245 have tested positive so far.
