Five armed robbers held a family hostage and looted their home in Toba Tek Singh, making off with 11 tola gold, $5,000 USD, and 20,000 Pakistani rupees.
According to a police on Wednesday, the robbers entered the home of Muhammad Islam and held the family at gunpoint. They then proceeded to ransack the house, stealing the aforementioned valuables before fleeing the scene.
“The family members were also tortured before the robbers escaped,” police said. Police are currently investigating the incident and are working to identify the criminals responsible. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward, police stated.—INP
