Robbers’ gang busted


The police busted a two-member inter-district robber gang, recovered arms, hundreds of thousand rupees cash, jewelry, three stolen bikes and other valuables from their possession here on Friday.

Taking notice of surge in robbery incidents, DPO Toba Tek Singh Najeeb ur Rehman tasked DSP Saddar Circle Toba, Syed Asif Ali Shah to arrest the culprits. A special police team headed by SHO Inspector Farhad Hussain was constituted which by using latest technology continued crackdowns against criminals. During a raid, a two-member notorious inter-district robber gang headed by Umer Daraz alias Shakeel Fauji and including Muhammad Anwar was arrested. The police also recovered two pistols, Rs600,000 cash, jewelry worth Rs40,000, three stolen bikes and other valuables.—INP
