Karachi authorities are implemented road closures and a hotel takeover in anticipation of the visit of Iranian president, citing security concerns. The traffic police announced the closure of several roads on April 23, including Club Road, Dr. Ziauddin Road, and Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road, with alternative routes provided for commuters’ convenience.
Meanwhile, a private hotel is set to be taken over by the government from April 22 to 24, leading to the cancellation of bookings and closure of shops within the premises. This decision coincides with the stay of a delegation, including Iranian foreign and interior ministers, at the hotel.
These measures highlight Karachi’s commitment to ensuring public safety and the smooth conduct of diplomatic engagements amidst heightened security considerations.
