Stringent restrictions have been put in place for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, set to commence on June 29.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the restrictions, citing security concerns, are impacting local population, who fear potential disruptions to their daily lives.
In preparation for the yatra, thousands of tents have been erected to accommodate the pilgrims.
The Modi government has deployed 60,000 additional paramilitary personnel across the territory to create an environment of fear and terror during these two months.
This deployment is in addition to tens of thousands of the troops already present in the territory.
Meanwhile, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in the Dabi Dharti area of Poonch district, today (Sunday).

All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Samad Inqilabi and Mohammad Yousuf Naqash in their statements in Srinagar expressed concern over the increasing human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir.
They criticized the United Nations for its failure to enforce its own resolutions on the Kashmir dispute.

Meanwhile, speakers at a seminar in Geneva have expressed grave concern over the continued illegal detention of thousands of Kashmiri prisoners in prisons of Indian illegaly Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and India.
The seminar titled “Plight of Kashmir Prisoners” was held on the sidelines of the 53rd session of the UN Human Rights Council meeting.
The speakers said that thousands of Kashmiris who were arrested before and after 5th August 2019 are languishing in India’s notorious jails like Tihar, which has become a death trap for Kashmiris.—KMS
