Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that government given approval of rehabilitation of grand trunk road from Attock bridge Wah Cantt and work on this project worth Rs one billion would be kicks off during next month and would be completed during a short span of four months period.

He was talking to newsmen after attending an open court at TMA hall in Hassanabdal on Wednesday.

He said that Rs 100 billion has been distributed so far under my home scheme, while due to government policies, the ten years record of increase in agriculture production was also broken, which benefited farmers across the country by up to billion of rupees up to Rs 1100 billion.

He said that government has recently given approval of over Rs100 billion housing construction loans by private banks under Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar Scheme.

He said the banks had so far disbursed Rs 32 billion as housing loans among the applicants adding that on average, the banks were approving Rs 4.2 billion and disbursing Rs 1.7 billion a week.

He claimed that Pakistan is one of the ten countries in the world where the wheel of economy continued even during COVID and today the world is appreciating our actions.

Responding a question about upcoming Supplementary Finance Bill, 2021 to slap highly inflationary Rs360 billion in indirect taxes which would further shrink the buying power of the common man, he said that there is no other option left for the present government as the main issue the government facing is the fiscal crunch and there is an uphill task of debt servicing payments in future.

He added that the successive leaders who burdened the country with loans worth 30,000 billion rupees for their commissions and kick backs do not supposed to blame the present government for inflation.

Responding to another question, he said that due to wrong policies of local organizations of PTI and faulty award of tickets, the party has not won the maximum seats in KP local bodies’ election, however nation should pay tribute to Prime Minister Imran Khan who conducted free and fair elections in the province.
