Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi here on Wednesday said that the appointment of judges to the superior judiciary of AJK will be made on merit soon for speedy delivery of justice to the people of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
He said Lawyers were a respectable segment of the society who have always played a leading role since the formation of Pakistan and added that both bench and bar have a significant role in providing speedy justice to the suffering humanity.
The Prime Minister said that the Local body elections will be held under the previous local government system and power will be shifted at the grass root level.
He assured that the issue of Rathoa Haryam Bridge, Mirpur Sui Gas, reforms in Mirpur Development Authority, lawyer’s colony will be resolved soon. He said the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is a courageous leader who has played a leading role in protecting the Kashmir issue in every forum.
President District Bar Association Masood A. Sheikh Advocate and General Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Chaudhry also addressed the function while Azad Kashmir Minister for Communications and Public Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council Vice Chairman Raja Fayyaz Nawabi Advocate, Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Muhammad Raqib Khan, DIG Ch. Sajjad Hussain, DG Development Chaudhry Imran Khalid, Deputy Commissioner Dr Umer Azam, SSP Kamran Ali.
