Rawalpindi experiences coldest day as temperature falls to 03°C

Rawalpindi experienced the coldest day of the winter season as the temperature dropped to 03°C on Friday.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country on Friday night and the next two days. Freezing weather is expected in the upper parts.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in the Twin Cities and most parts of the country on Friday night and the next two days. Freezing weather is expected in the upper parts. Moderate to dense fog is expected in the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03°C and 05°C on Saturday, between 02°C and 04°C on Sunday, and between 01°C and 03°C on Monday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Saturday, between 01°C and 03°C on Sunday, and between 0°C and 02°C on Monday.

Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours, while very cold in hilly areas. Fog prevailed in most districts of Punjab. However, rain occurred at a few places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country, where the temperature dropped 09°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Kalat was recorded at -07°C, in Gupis and Kalam at -04°C, in Quetta at -03°C and in Malam Jabba at -02°C.

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 04°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 67 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 57 per cent.
