ISLAMABAD – Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa has got a new role in Immigration and Passport Services, after transfer as Islamabad Commissioner and CDA Chairman.
Establishment Division issued a notification which stated that BS-20 Pakistan Administrative Service officer will now serve as Director General of Immigration and Passports under the Interior and Narcotics Control Division, effective immediately and until further notice.

Before his posting in capital, Randhawa was Commissioner of Lahore Division. In this federal leadership position, he will be responsible for overseeing passport issuance, immigration management, and reform initiatives.
This change comes amid reshuffle in Islamabad’s administrative leadership. Lt. (Retd.) Sohail Ashraf has been appointed as the new Chief Commissioner. A Grade-20 PAS officer, Ashraf has previously worked as Secretary of Communications and Works in Punjab and as Deputy Commissioner in Faisalabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
He may also be given the additional responsibility of CDA chairman, overseeing the city’s development and municipal administration. Randhawa’s new role places him in charge of federal immigration and passport operations.
