Muslims in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries are set to welcome Ramadan 2024 as it is most sacred time for faithful.

Islamic nations are set to observe the crescent moon for Ramadan this month and as per prediction by International Astronomical Center, the moon is expected to be sighted on March 10, 2024. (Sunday)

In light of prediction, it is expected that Saudi Arabia and other countries will observe first Ramadan on March 11 Monday. Chances of sighting the crescent on March 10 are thin as per scientific criteria for crescent sighting.

Reports also said crescent will not be sighted across Arab and Islamic world on March 10. Therefore, Ramadan is likely to begin on other countries on March 12 Tuesday.

Ramadan in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a time of great religious and cultural significance. It is observed with deep devotion and reverence by the majority. The month-long fasting period is a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, and acts of charity.

During Ramadan, gulf nations come alive as streets are bustling with activity, especially in the evenings, as people prepare for iftar to break their fast. Mosques are filled with worshippers attending special evening prayers known as Taraweeh, where verses from the Quran are recited.

Families and communities also gather for Iftar and Suhoor as it strengthens bonds in the blessings of the month. There is also a tradition of giving to those less fortunate, with many people and organizations organizing charitable activities and events.

Several nations also introduced various cultural and entertainment events during Ramadan, offering a mix of traditional and modern activities for people to enjoy after breaking their fast.
