ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted 10-day transit bail to YouTubers Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala.
Justice Inam Amin Minhas of the high court heard the case during which both social media influencers appeared before the court.
During the hearing, the petitioners’ lawyer requested a 15-day transit bail, citing an ongoing case in Karachi.
However, Justice Minhas stated that a 10-day protective bail would be granted, advising the petitioners to approach the relevant court.
Subsequently, the IHC allowed both petitioners to seek relief from the relevant court within 10 days and approved their transit bail.
The accused are facing charges under cybercrime laws related to the promotion of a gambling app. The Islamabad High Court had earlier issued an order preventing the arrest of Rajab Butt at the airport upon his arrival in Pakistan.
Rajab Butt returned to Pakistan from UK after his visa was cancelled by the Home Department of the country.
