ISLAMABAD – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is all set to meet today in Islamabad for the sighting of the moon for Rabiul Awal 1448 AH.
The meeting will be chaired by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Members of the central committee, along with representatives of zonal committees from different parts of the country, will participate in the session.
Representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO will also provide scientific and astronomical information regarding the moon sighting.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will review reports received from across the country regarding whether the moon has been sighted. Zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meetings will also be held simultaneously in various cities.
Rabiul Awal Moon 2026 Forecast in Pakistan
A SUPARCO spokesperson said astronomical parameters indicated that the Rabiul Awal moon is unlikely to be sighted on the evening of August 13. The spokesperson said the moon is expected to become visible on August 14.
Based on astronomical calculations, the first day of Rabiul Awal 2026 is expected to fall on Saturday, August 15, while 12 Rabiul Awal is likely to be observed on Wednesday, August 26.
However, the final date for the beginning of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be determined by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after reviewing eyewitness reports and information provided by relevant institutions.
