Maryam launches mobile veterinary fleet to take livestock care to farmers’ doorstep
On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, special secret cell has been established to detect corruption in various department.
The Punjab government has also established a helpline “1350” for public complaints against corruption and mismanagement.
The report of the secret cell is being submitted directly to the Chief Minister as Maryam Nawaz has decided to personally monitor anti-corruption operations. CM Maryam said wherever there is corruption, bribery or misuse of authority, the public should immediately inform her.
CM Maryam said that every complaint will be taken action and the name of the complainant will be kept completely confidential. She said a tip-off from the public can expose the entire network of corruption and bribery.
The action will not end until the looted money is fully recovered, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said. She said corruption is not just theft of money but it is theft of the rights and trust of the public. CM Maryam Nawaz said any hand that moves towards the public’s money will be stopped. A modern monitoring system will be used to monitor development projects, Maryam Nawaz said.
Independent review of the quality and expenditure of every project made mandatory, she added. Chief Minister ordered to ensure action on corruption complaints within the stipulated time. The trust of the public is the biggest asset of this government and I will not let it be damaged, Maryam Nawaz said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated a mobile veterinary fleet aimed at providing livestock treatment and diagnostic services at farmers’ doorsteps, particularly in rural areas.
During a ceremony, the chief minister inspected a state-of-the-art mobile veterinary dispensary, veterinary laboratory and X-ray unit. She also directed the livestock department to organise a livestock conference and approved the proposed design of model veterinary hospitals across the province.
According to a briefing by Livestock Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani and Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar, 30 additional mobile veterinary dispensaries and 17 mobile veterinary laboratories have been launched, bringing the number of functional mobile veterinary hospitals to 262.
