Punjab has joined hands with leading Chinese organisations to boost technical and vocational education and training in the province.
The Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) has signed MoUs with TANG Chinese Education & Technology and the China Global Professional & Technical Certification Centre (CGPTC).
The agreement aims to broaden skills development opportunities for young people in Punjab through internationally recognised training, stronger industry partnerships, and initiatives focused on workforce and human capital development.
The MoU was signed by PSDF Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Khan, TANG Chinese Education & Technology Ltd President and Founder Li Jinsong, and CGPTC Chief Executive Officer Vincent Que.
Under the partnership, the three organisations will work together to explore cooperation in accredited skills training, international certification, trainer development, industry collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
The collaboration will also examine joint training programmes in key sectors, including construction, engineering, agriculture, hospitality, tourism, Chinese language, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and e-commerce.
Ahmed Khan said the partnership underscored Pakistan-China cooperation in the field of skills development and would help Pakistani youth acquire internationally recognised competencies and access better employment opportunities.
The partners will also consider ways to build stronger connections between training providers and Chinese companies operating in Pakistan. These efforts will focus on employer engagement, ensuring curricula meet industry requirements, and developing a workforce equipped for evolving market needs.
The agreement further provides for potential Training-of-Trainers (ToT) programmes, professional exchanges, and institutional capacity-building initiatives based on international standards. The organisations will also share insights on labour market trends, skills shortages, industry competitiveness, and best practices, while participating in relevant learning forums and professional events.
Li Jinsong welcomed the partnership, saying the collaboration would help bring together key stakeholders in the TVET sector and promote industry-focused training and workforce preparedness through international cooperation.
Vincent Que said CGPTC would contribute to the initiative through digital learning platforms, trainer development programmes, and technical expertise.
The partnership supports PSDF’s broader objective of linking Pakistan’s skilled workforce with international employment demand while strengthening the institutional foundations of a skills ecosystem capable of generating long-term economic benefits for Punjab’s youth and the wider national economy.
