Punjab CM announces date for reopening of schools after winter vacations

Punjab interim Chief Minister Moshin Naqvi announced that all schools across the region will reopen from this week, after three weeks of closure propelled by worsening air quality and cold weather.

Naqvi said all private and government schools will reopen on January 10, 2024.

Considering the frosty weather, he said schools classes will commence at 9:30 am. He also advised students to cover with jackets and warm clothes as the region remained in cold weather.

Punjab Winter Holidays Update

Earlier, the government extended winter holidays in all private and public schools in light of fresh cold wave. Schools’ winter vacations were extended as cold wave gripped parts of the country, with temperatures falling low.

The frosty cold weather makes it difficult for children to continue educational activities.

The government said the health of students is of paramount importance, and so there will be no negligence related to the closure of schools in winter break
