LAHORE – Educational institutions and government offices are all set to mark a public holiday across the country next week on account of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
The Islamic month of Rabiul Awaal 1448 AH commenced on August 15 while the 12th Rabiu Awwal — the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) — will be observed on August 26 (Wednesday).
The 12th of Rabi ul Awal marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it is observed with religious zeal and zest.
Public Holiday
According to public holidays calendar for year 2026, a public holiday on account of Eid Miladul Nabi (PBUH) will be observed on 12 Rabiul Awwal, which falls on August 26 this year, across Paksitan.
A formal notification in this regard is yet to be issued by both federal and provincial governments.
Punjab Announces Special Arrangements for Eid Miladun Nabi
Meabwgukem The Punjab Home Department has issued instructions to administrative and police officials across the province regarding special arrangements for the observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
According to the department, the provincial government will mark the occasion with religious devotion and due respect.
Special arrangements will be made along the routes of major Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions, including the establishment of water and refreshment stalls. Prominent buildings, banks and government and private offices will also be illuminated with green lights.
The department has directed all public and private schools across Punjab to hold Milad gatherings on 11 Rabi-ul-Awwal. A Seerat-un-Nabi symposium will also be organised to commemorate the occasion.
Special programmes will likewise be arranged in prisons across the province, where sweets will be distributed among inmates.
The Home Department has further instructed authorities to promote peace, tolerance and unity during the celebrations.
