RIYADH – Saudi Arabia has announced a public holiday on September 23, 2026, to mark the country’s 96th National Day.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the date of the National Day holiday for employees in the private and other covered sectors.
Officials said in a post on social media platform X that Wednesday, September 23, corresponding to 12 Rabi Al-Thani 1448 AH, will be observed as an official holiday for employees in the relevant sectors.
The ministry said the decision has been issued in accordance with Article 24 of the executive regulations of the Labour Law.
Saudi Arabia observes its National Day annually on September 23, marking the historic unification of the Kingdom in 1932. The occasion is observed across the country with a strong sense of national pride and unity.
Streets, buildings and public spaces are decorated in the Saudi flag’s green and white colors, while families and communities take part in celebrations and cultural activities. The day also provides an opportunity to reflect on the Kingdom’s history, achievements and development.
Citizens and residents come together to celebrate Saudi identity, heritage and progress, making National Day one of the country’s most significant annual occasions.
