ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad police have confirmed the arrest of PTI information secretary Raoof Hassan and denied the detention of party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali.
Police, in a statement, said they conducted a raid at the PTI central office on basis of information received from the party’s international social media activist.
They said the social media cell at the PTI Secretariat was being used for spreading disinformation and false propaganda, adding that computers and record have been seized during the raid.
They said the social media cell was being used to provoke people against state.
The Islamabad police said that Raoof Hassan and other people, who are attached to the social media cell, have also been arrested during the raid.
