Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) heavily criticized the inept and incompetent imported government for the economic meltdown and the rupee freefall, as the economy was bleeding to death.

Pakistani rupee hit a new all-time low against the US dollar in the inter-bank market around midday on Thursday.

PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umar flayed the government for its flawed economic policies and poor management, which was evident from the alarming downward spiral of the rupee against the dollar.

Asad said that dollar crossed 240 mark sine since vote of no confidence being moved against the PTI government, as the economy was bleeding to death.

He said that gravity of the situation could be judged from the fact that the Pakistani rupee dropped over 62 against dollar, which would result in further increases in prices of energy products including petrol, diesel, LNG and electricity.—Staff Reporter
