LAHORE – The playoff lineup for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X) has been finalized.
Four teams qualified for playoffs lineup of the tournament.
Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi to secure the final spot in the playoffs in the 29th match of the tournament played on Sunday.
With the victory of Qalandars, , the four teams advancing to the next stage have now been confirmed.
The match, held in Rawalpindi, started late due to strong winds and rain and was reduced to 13 overs per side. Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first.
Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 149 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 13 overs.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi managed 123 runs for 8 wickets in their 13 overs, falling short by 26 runs.
With this victory, Lahore Qalandars became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs. Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators had already secured their spots.
Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans eliminated
Following their defeat, Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi were knocked out of the tournament. Multan Sultans had already been eliminated from playoff contention earlier.
This marks the first time in PSL history that Peshawar Zalmi has failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Points table
At the end of the league stage, Quetta Gladiators sit at the top of the points table with 15 points from 10 matches.
Karachi Kings hold second position with 12 points from 9 games, followed by Lahore Qalandars in third place with 11 points from 10 matches.
Islamabad United are in fourth place with 10 points from 9 matches.
Peshawar Zalmi also ended with 10 points from 10 games but missed out on qualification due to net run rate. Multan Sultans concluded their campaign with only 2 points from 10 matches, placing them at the bottom.
The final league match of the season will be played on Monday between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, which will determine the matchups for the playoff stage.
