In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people raised high-pitched pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans during Muharram processions in different areas of Srinagar and Badgam districts.
During the Muharram processions taken out in different areas of Srinagar and Budgam, the mourners raised slogans like “Hum Pakistani hen – Pakistan hamara hey (we are Pakistanis – Pakistan is ours”, “We want freedom” and “India leave Jammu and Kashmir”. They said India is a oppressor which occupied their land illegally and forcibly
On the other hand, Indian forces’ personnel used brute force and fired teargas shells and bullets on mourners. They also arrested several mourners during processions and house raids in different areas of the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, APHC leader, Mir Shahid Saleem, and Sikh leader, Narinder Singh Khalsa, in their separate statements strongly condemned the use of brute force and arrest of mourners in the territory.—KMS
